A quick update...

Greetings to each of you!  I am now 37 weeks pregnant and am so excited to meet our son, Eli.  I pray that he would come to know Jesus at an early age.  Below is a portion of my wonderful mother-in-law's blog.  I can't tell you how thankful I am for such wonderful in-laws, who are prayer warriors for our family.  Ok, so I had to post this after I wiped up all the tears off the table...

I love Psalm 139:13-16 and I am inserting Eli’s name. “For God formed Eli’s inward parts; God knitted Eli together in his mother’s womb. Eli will praise you for he is fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are God’s works; Eli’s soul knows it very well. Eli’s frame was not hidden from God when Eli was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. God’s eyes saw Eli’s unformed substance; in God’s book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for Eli, when as yet there was none of them.” We covet your prayers for a safe delivery and a healthy baby.

"Mary, Did You Know?"

It has been quite awhile since I have posted.  We have been enjoying this Christmas season and all the excitement it brings.  I love the decorations, the treats, our families together, and celebrating the birth of our great Savior, Jesus.  I have been treasuring the words to "Mary, Did You Know?"  There is a line in this song that says, "Mary, did you know, that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?"  We pray that this would be true of this new life that the Lord has given Adam and I.  Yes, I am pregnant!  I am 13 weeks pregnant and feeling wonderful - now!  It is amazing the difference in the first and second trimester!  The last few weeks have been interesting, but we are so thankful for this new little one.  My last appointment went well and the heart rate was 177!  What a wonderful sound that is.  I will have another appointment right before Christmas.
Please pray for Adam and I that we would trust Jesus with this precious life.  I pray that I would not let worry consume me, but that I would run to the cross and cling to the One who created this sweet baby.
Merry Christmas!

The Beauty of Creation

Today I went to Community Bible Study for the first time!  What an incredible experience.  I think it is similar to Bible Study Fellowship.  It is an indept study, which is on Genesis this year.  There is a children's ministry as well, which allows childen at young ages to hear about Jesus and memorize scripture.  They are studying Genesis as well and made caterpillers today with the cutest little antenaes poking out of the cardbaord egg crate!  They were so cute.  But more importantly than how cute they were, they learned, as well as us, that God created the heavens and the earth and every living creature.  He made the creatures and the plants of the fields to be sustainable.  He created the caterpillers- a lot of them- that later make cacoons and then turn into beautiful butterflies.
We have so enjoyed this beautiful weather.  The cool breeze blowing through our house that make the curtains fly all over the place is simply the greatest. What an incredible Creator, who created seasons, the smell of fall and the feel of a cool breeze.
Adam and I have had a hard couple of weeks, but I am so refreshed today.  I am thankful for the Word of God to show me Jesus and for the wonderful ladies in this Bible study.
We continue to pray that the Lord would give us another baby if that is his will; we lay our family and our desires at the feet of Jesus.

Precious Little One

It has been a little while since I have posted and have much updating to do.  Yesterday around 4:00 in the morning, Adam and I lost our baby.  It is so hard to tell people what has happened, so I apologize if you are reading this rather than hearing from us.  Please know that we love you.

I have cherished several things over the last 24 hours.  I am so thankful to God, for sending his Son to die for our sweet little child. Before we knew that we had miscarried, Adam and I  prayed that he (we named him Sam) would come to know the Lord at an early age.  Our prayers were heard and answered.  I am thankful that Jesus loves his children and that he has welcomed Sam home.  I prayed last night as I was trying to fall asleep, that the Lord would allow Mom to rock Sam to sleep  for us. We miss him terribly but are comforted knowing that the Lord who created his small little body, holds him in the palm of his hand.  Who better to care for your child?  All of his days were ordained and now he sits with his heavenly Father for eternity.

My sweet friend brought us dinner last night, with the most beautiful off white and pink rose, and the following poem:

Precious Little One

Precious, tiny little one
You'll always be to me
So perfect, pure and innocent-
Part of Heaven's family.

We dreamed of you and your life
And all that it would be
We waited and longed for you to come
And join our family.

We never had the chance to play,
To laugh, to rock, to wiggle,
We long to hold you, touch you now
And listen to you giggle.

I'll always be your mother,
He'll always be your dad,
You will always be our child,
The child that we had.

Just know our love goes deep and strong,
We'll forget you never-
The child we had but never had,
And yet will have forever.

Yesterday my dear father in law quoted Psalm 139 to me in the parking lot of Chick-fil-A.  "All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."(v.16)

We had one ultrasound that we saw his little heart beating 154 beats per minute.  We loved seeing him and that was the last time I had seen him until today when my husband came home with a cd in his hand.  He said "I got the pictures of Sam."  There is  a video on there that shows his beating heart and his body moving around in my womb. I am so thankful for these pictures and cherish them.   I could not have married a more wonderful man and I will NEVER be able to express my love for him in a way that could ever show him how much I truly love him.  I have been so incredibly blessed.

Please pray for us as we grieve for our first baby.  We love him and pray that fear will not rob us of our joy in trying again.

6 weeks and 1 day

Today I am six weeks and 1 day!  I feel great and am truly enjoying this experience!  I have craved Qdoba Mexican Restaurant SO badly!!!  (Poor Adam, we have been there almost everyday!)   The baby is the size of a lentil and nose, mouth and ears are taking shape.  His or her arm and leg buds are forming as well. The heart is beating 100-160 times a minute!

Elton John's "Blessed"

Hey you, you're a child in my head
You haven't walked yet
Your first words have yet to be said
But I swear you'll be blessed

I know you're still just a dream
your eyes might be green
Or the bluest that I've ever seen
Anyway you'll be blessed

And you, you'll be blessed
You'll have the best
I promise you that
I'll pick a star from the sky
Pull your name from a hat
I promise you that, promise you that, promise you that
You'll be blessed

I need you before I'm too old
To have and to hold
To walk with you and watch you grow
And know that you're blessed
